The world’s most expensive piece of jewellery is believed to be the ultra-rare blue diamond ring in a white-gold band, crafted by Swiss master Chopard (pictured). The piece is valued to be a cool £9.86million, reported The Daily Mail newspaper.
In second place is the British jeweller Garrard’s Heart Of The Kingdom Ruby, a 40.63-carat Burma ruby on a 155-carat diamond necklace, worth £8.48million.
An auction sale at Sotheby’s once raised £4.84million for a Fancy Vivid Blue Diamond Ring in October 2007 and at the same Sotheby sale in Hong Kong, a sautoir (loose necklace) with a 47-carat green emerald, was sold for £1.6million.
When Beyoncé married rapper Jay-Z last year she wore an 18-carat emerald-shaped diamond in platinum band worth £3million by Lorraine Schwartz. Following closely in the sparkly stakes is the 24-carat emerald-cut diamond engagement ring given to socialite Paris Hilton by shipping heir Paris Latsis in 2005, worth £2.85million.
Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie, who got married in January, showed off a diamond-heavy gold Venus Necklace by H.Stern, worth £1.92million.
De Beers’ Marie Antoinette Necklace takes sixth place in the line-up, according to the newspaper, with £2.24million worth of diamonds.
