Actor George Clooney has given a diamond Cartier ring to Italian girlfriend, TV star Elisabetta Canalis but denies it is an engagement ring – yet.
“Every day is like Christmas at George’s house for Elisabetta,” a source close to Clooney told American tabloid In Touch Weekly. “He’s even looking at a Maserati. He’s had a great life for a long time, but she seems to make him very happy.”
The 48-year-old Hollywood legend has admitted to being lonely in the past. “Just because you’re with someone in a couple doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re incredibly happy and complete — sometimes the opposite,” reported Showbiz Spy.
“I’ve broken up with a few people, and had a lot of people break up with me, and sometimes it has been a relatively easy thing, and sometimes it has been the sensible thing because the relationship wasn’t working out.
“I’m just trying to live my life the way I choose to live it here and hope it all works out, but I’m also well aware that certain things you can do which are cute when you do them at 20 become less cute when you’re still doing them at 48.”
About his relationship with the 31-year-old Italian beauty, Clooney said: “If life’s a journey, then right now I’ve got a very nice co-pilot.
“I’m not going to project into the future and say I’ve found a co-pilot for life because I don’t want to jinx things… but I will say that at the moment, I’m having a very nice time being a frequent flyer on Alitalia.”
