Diamonds, Lorraine Schwartz and minidresses were all sparkly hits at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.
Beyonce, who won three Moonman awards including Video of the Year for her song Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It), wore over a million dollars worth of diamond jewellery by Lorraine Schwartz. Her hoop earrings, valued at $450,000 were made from diamond and rock crystal, and she wore a trio of lavender, green and black carved jade bangles decorated with diamonds and rubies worth $600,000.
Beyonce later wore Schwartz again during her performance, swapping her hoops for tiered earrings with green and gray iridescent diamonds.
Fellow songstress Alicia Keys, also wore a large pair of hoop earrings by an unknown designer and several pieces by Lorraine Schwartz. She set off her black sequinned cocktail dress with a set of platinum bangles set with black jade, and black and white diamonds, her signature “Against Evil Eye” diamond bracelet, and a black jade and emerald cocktail ring set in platinum.
Country music star Taylor Swift, won the award for Best Female Video, and wore a silver gown with oxidized gold and diamond mesh earrings and an oxidized gold cuff featuring 40 carats of diamonds, again all by Lorraine Schwartz.
Punky popstar Pink showed off a white gold and pave diamond chain-link ring by R.S. Durant and Irit Design oxidized sterling silver and rose-cut diamond multi-chain bracelet, Siera diamond triangle earrings and matching cocktail ring with her studded black-leather minidress.
Jennifer Lopez joined in on the sparkly trend with large platinum drop earrings featuring two interlocked asymmetrical links studded with black and white diamonds by Lorraine Schwartz and the minidress.
