The sparkly iPad 64 GB, covered in solid Platinum and set with 173 precious diamonds, weighs an impressive 2,700 grams.

Designer Stuart Hughes is offering the glitzy limited edition for the cool price of £299,995. For technology-lovers, the iPad is the Wi-Fi & 3G, 64GB version.

Only five pieces will be made and set with 85.5 carats of ‘I’F’ Flawless diamonds embedded in the solid platinum frame.

The Apple-designed tablet computer is a platform for audio and visual media including books, periodicals, movies, music, and games, and online content. Apple first released the iPad in April 2010, and sold 3 million in 80 days!

“People are loving iPad as it becomes a part of their daily lives,” Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO commented at the time. “We’re working hard to get this magical product into the hands of even more people around the world, including those in nine more countries next month.”

Weighing just 700 grams, it rivals the size and weight of today’s smartphones and laptops, and runs the same operating system as the iPhone.

Designer Stuart Hughes is renowned for his luxury designs and products, which include gold and diamond television sets, diamond encrusted suits, and solid gold ipods.

Hughes was also behind the MacBook Air Supreme Ice Edition, a solid platinum laptop encrusted with 53, 25.5 carats, Flawless diamonds, set in a solid Platinum Apple logo! Only 10 pieces were created.

‘It’s not about showcasing ’super luxury’ but the traditions of Italians,’ noted Ernesto Miraglia, curator of the Italy Pavilion. ‘The Italian lifestyle has always held fascination for Chinese people, and through events like this we’d like to showcase the best of our best.

‘Of course, not everyone could afford to drive Ferrari or wear Prada, whether in China or in Italy, however, hopefully, by getting in touch with these high-end products at the Italy Pavilion, people will get the idea of what luxury is – and what is the best.’

Other jewellers from Czech and Belgium also showcased their sparkly works with a dazzling dance performance from Czech Republic champions, Martin Dvorak and Zuzana Sihanova, in crystal embedded costumes from leading manufacturer of crystal beads and pendants, Preciosa. The performance was then followed by a mini fashion show of the brand’s latest cut-crystal jewellery collection.

The Antwerp World Diamond Center (AWDC) also held an Antwerp Diamond Day in the Belgium Pavilion.

The £20 Million display of precious jewels loaned by Bond Street Store Leviev including a £3.2 million flawless blue diamond set in a daisy-shaped ring made the garden worth three times more than all the other gardens at the Flower Show altogether, according to the newspaper. The stones were then replaced with fake stones for public viewing.

Garden designer David Domoney described the garden, which also features Chiltern marble, Roman plinths and backlit walls with semi-precious stones such as quartz and amethyst, as more ‘bling’ than Paris Hilton.

Diamonds Garden worth more than the whole of Chelsea Flower Show

‘Because of the safety aspect the jewellery will not be there during the open days,’ he said. ‘The value of the garden will be worth more than the whole of Chelsea Flower Show this year, last year and the year before that.’

‘This is a feel-good garden,’ he told the BBC. ‘When you wear jewellery – you feel good. This garden has the same effect.’

Along with the precious gems, the garden is planted with flowers like thistles and peonies that have inspired jewellery along with plants named after jewels like the hosta diamond tiara and thuja emerald conifer.

Domoney has courted controversy before with his use of piranhas in a display last year and for using Viagra to perk up plants.

Bob Sweet, Royal Horticultural Society Show director, has confirmed the garden will get extra security.

“Our sales in Geneva this spring will bring together a superb assortment of top quality gemstones and an exceptional group of glamorous and sophisticated jewels of noble provenance,” said David Bennett, the chairman of jewelry for Sotheby’s Europe & the Middle East.

Highlights of the auction are two stones set as rings: a 52.82 carat emerald-cut diamond, and 5.02 carat pear-shaped fancy vivid blue diamond.

Flawless emerald-cut diamond

The very rare, flawless emerald-cut diamond has been estimated to fetch over $7 million and the blue diamond, designed by Alexandre Reza, is expected to fetch $4 million to $7 million.

The Noble Jewels sale will also feature a 160 carat, graduated rivere diamond necklace designed by Chiappe. The 28 circular-cut diamond piece is estimated to sell for between $1.4 million and $2.1 million.

Established in 1976, Sotheby’s Geneva began holding sales in 1980 and is a key centre for jewellery auctions in Europe. Highlights over the years for the Swiss auction house has included the sales of the jewels of the Duchess of Windsor in 1987, the Princely Collection of Thurn und Taxis in 1992 and the jewels of Madame Helene Beaumont in 1994.

Three of the largest and valuable diamonds to ever appear in the saleroom were sold at Geneva, each setting a new world price including the stunning sum of SFr19,858,000 ($16.5 million) for a 100.10 carat, pear-shaped diamond.

Diamond encrusted teeth

Justice Charles Soloman agreed to delay the sentencing until the series of dental surgeries are completed. On Valentine’s Day, February 14, the most love-struck tweet will be chosen to win the sparkly prize of a three-stone diamond ring. Rules and regulations state daily prize winners will be randomly chosen. Odds of winning are dependant on the number of eligible entries received.

The daily prize of a diamond necklace is set in 14-carat white gold with a ¼ solitaire diamond pendant and a retail value of $600. The grand prize of a three stone diamond ring, set in 18-carat white gold, is estimated to be $8,900.

The Girls Aloud member appeared without the £16,000 diamond ring but sources said the 26-year-old had just forgotten to put the diamond ring back on after washing her hands yet she is renowned for meticulously planning her outfits.
