The Ugly Betty star showed off her sparkly 4-carat round-cut diamond engagement ring,at the International Film Festival in Edinburgh.

The 26-year-old recently got engaged to director Ryan Piers Williams, was at the festival promoting their new film, The Dry Island, along with comedy Our Family Wedding.

The couple met at film school at the University of Southern California when Ferrera agreed to star in one of William’s student movies. The couple have lived together for three years and have a golden retriever, called Buddy, nicknamed ‘baby’.

Jewellery appraiser David Mamame of MyJewelryBox.com estimates the ring to be worth $70,000.

The Hispanic actress first starred as Betty in 2006 and won the 2007 Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical, and congratulations by the U.S. House of Representatives as being a role model for young Hispanics.

She also won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress – Comedy Series for her Ugly Betty role, the first Latina to win in that category and youngest winner in Emmy history in that category.

That same year, Time picked Ferrera as one of the top artists and entertainers in their ‘Time 100: The Most Influential People In The World’ issue.

Ferrera is now the executive producer of interactive TV and Web show, Pedro & Maria, a modern-day Romeo & Juliet, which will be aired on MTV. The show will be influenced by an audience vote on the direction of the plot.

The 24-year-old actress who married fellow actor Brian Austin Green, 36, last month, was snapped by paparazzi and as she tried to hide her face from photographers, her giant diamond ring was snapped.

Replacement for lost engagement ring

The diamond replaces the ring she lost on the beach when she became engaged to Austin Green on June 1.

 The couple married three weeks later in a romantic Hawaiian sunset ceremony on a deserted beach. A local kahuna – Hawaiian priest – performed the ceremony and the only witness present was Austin Green’s eight-year-old son, Kassius, reported the Daily Mail.

‘They were beyond happy, and they seemed so comfortable,’ a friend of the couple told the newspaper. ‘They decided a long time ago that they belonged with each other.’

The celebrity couple met on the set of Hope And Faith back in 2004. Fox told the press about her marriage plans: ‘I’ve been in this relationship so long and I love [Brian] so much,’ she said.

‘And of course [marriage is] in the future somewhere…I’m not closed to that idea. I just think If you’re going to [get married], if you’re going to be with someone and make a commitment, it’s good to tell the universe, to say I’m committing to this person and making them my family.’

Fox revealed to More magazine in an interview about her relationship with fame and friends: ‘I think I’ve maintained the same relationships that I had before this happened to me – I’ve kept people close to me that I love and respect, and I’ve distanced myself from the Hollywood crowd.

‘I don’t go out and socialise that way, with those people. I’m very domesticated, and I think that keeps me sane. My personal relationships keep me grounded.’

The 24-year-old American actress and model lost the 2-carat diamond sparkler in Hawaii on Big Island and was devastated.

‘Later, I saw a half dozen staff sifting through the sand,’ a source told Us Weekly. Another eyewitness told the magazine: ‘Security and maintenance staff spent a couple of hours looking for it. No one found it.’

The Beverley Hills 901210 actor proposed to the Transformers actress earlier this month with the 1930s style platinum ring set with pave diamonds.

Old mine cut diamond engagement ring

Green purchased the old mine cut ring from the Excalibur jewellery store in beverley Hills which is estimated to be worth $60,000, by Diamond Information Center expert Francesca Ferrante.

The celebrity couple first started dating six years ago and got engaged in 2006 which was then called off last year. Fox revealed in a recent interview: ‘I love Brian very much and we had been into this relationship for a long time. Of course, marriage is on the cards in near future.’

Dismissed previous engagement rumours

The 27-year-old Australian model dismissed the rumours as ‘What a load of baloney – as if anyone would do that,’ adding Australian reporters not to always believe what they read about her personal life.

Kerr told Page Six Magazine two years ago, her future plans. ‘My ideal situation would be to live on a farm in a solar-powered house with a hammock and a vegetable patch. When this is all over, that’s where I’ll be. I’ve always wanted kids, so someday, eventually, yes, it will happen.’

Engagement to Dutch rocker LeNoble

Applegate’s friend Alyssa Milano told Us.magazine how Applegate kept her engagement to Dutch rocker LeNoble ‘a secret from everyone.’ The pair only revealed their romantic news a week ago.

The Australian celebrity couple were spotted in L.A. wearing giant diamond engagement rings. Rose wore an emerald-cut diamond with two side baguettes and McNeil a sapphire and diamond-encrusted rock.

Engagement ring bought in Dubai
