Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty is engaged to her British-based millionaire boyfriend and businessman, Raj Kundra.
The Celebrity Big Brother winner was proposed to with a diamond ring rumoured to have cost the size of a luxury apartment in South Mumbai. She told Express India: “I seek everyone’s blessings. Thank you very much.”
Family members and close friends attended the engagement ceremony at the weekend in Mumbai although the star’s younger sister, Shamita, was unable to make the party as she was appearing in the Indian version of Big Brother, Big Boss.
‘I know everyone’s eager to know about the wedding date. All I can say is yes it’s been finalised and will make an official announcement as soon as I know when Shamita’s coming out,’ the 34-year-old actress and model has posted on her blog.
Diamond jewellery for the wedding
“She has ordered diamond jewellery for the wedding and has picked every piece with care. We are gearing up for her wedding in December,” her publicist told Indian newspaper DNA.
The couple have been dating for around two years.
Shilpa Shetty has appeared in nearly 40 Bollywood, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films. She is known for her appearance on Celebrity Big Brother in 2007 and international racial controversy from fellow contestants Jade Goodey, Jo O’Meara and Danielle Lloyd. She became the winner of the show with 63% of the vote.
