Actor George Clooney has given a diamond Cartier ring to Italian girlfriend, TV star Elisabetta Canalis but denies it is an engagement ring - yet.
“Every day is like Christmas at George’s house for Elisabetta,” a source close to Clooney told American tabloid In Touch Weekly. “He’s even looking at a Maserati. He’s had a great life for a long time, but she seems to make him very happy.”

A pear-shaped diamond ring is the prize jewel at Sotheby’s Important Jewels sale this month.
The D colour, potentially flawless stone, weighing 29.53 carats, is the highlight of a collection of classically styled jewels by Van Cleef & Arpels, David Webb, Tiffany & Co. and Bulgari known as the New York Estate. Sotheby’s estimates the pear-shaped diamond with heart-shaped diamonds, weighing 1.35 and 1.51 carat,) to be worth $1.8-$2.2 (£1.1-£1.3) million.
