Chicken egg sized 507-carat diamond found in Africa

Petra Diamonds Ltd. has found a white diamond the size of a chicken egg at South Africa's Cullinan mine in Pretoria. The 507.55-carat diamond could be among the world's top 20 high-quality rough diamonds, reported Bloomberg press.

Naked Hope Diamond on display for first time

The Hope Diamond is on public display as an unset stone for the first time ever to mark its 50th anniversary at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History.
The infamous 45.52-carat deep-blue diamond - blue to the naked eye with its trace amounts of metalloid element, boron - exhibits red phosphorence under UV light.

'Sex and the City' actor Chris Noth is engaged. The 54-year-old star who played Carrie Bradshaw's soul mate 'Big' in the hit American TV series, has proposed to partner and Canadian actress Tara Lynn Wilson, with a large diamond ring.
