World Diamond Group imposes ban on ‘blood diamonds’ from Zimbabwe

U.S.-based Rapaport Diamond Trading Network has banned the trade of ‘blood diamonds’ from two Zimbabwe mines renowned for the killings of workers and enslavement of children.
The global group has promised to publish the names of members knowingly trading in the precious stones from the diamond fields near the eastern city of Mutare.
The Associated Press reported the announcement made this month.
